Don Salter is the owner and general manager of the Saltmine Studios. Since he started The Saltmine in his garage 30 years ago, he has either produced or helped hundreds of local artists produce their songs and has worked with many major names in the industry. When he’s not in session, Don takes care of all the studio’s logistics and scheduling and keeps everyone happy. He has written hundreds of songs, plays guitar, mandolin, flute and alto flute, but enjoys assisting clients in their lyric writing quite often. He believes clarity and feel are the most important elements that must be captured, performance is everything, it must be believable!
He has a talent for knowing when things sound good, or what might be the ideas needed in getting a good song to become a great song. He usually floats into sessions and checks the “vibe” making sure everything is at its best and the client is getting the result they want, as well as having their comfort needs met. He often will personally attend to the food being ordered and delivered and happens to make the finest Award Winning Cheesesteaks you will ever taste. “We are uncompromising in our quest for excellence here, I’ll do everything I can to help an artist feel happy”.
